Eric Diller, Ph.D., P.Eng.

  • Dr. Diller has led the Microrobotics Lab since 2014. His work is on micro-scale robotics and bio-inspired novel locomotion systems, and features fabrication and control relating to remote actuation of micro-scale devices using magnetic fields, micro-scale robotic manipulation, and smart materials.
  • Dr. Diller is the recipient of the MIE Department Early Career Teaching Award, the UofT Connaught New Researcher Award, the Ontario Early Researcher Award, the I.W. Smith Award from the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineers, and the Dean’s Catalyst Professorship.

Peyman Shokrollahi, Ph.D.

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Eng. from the Univ. of Toronto in 2017
  • MASc in Electrical and Computer Eng. from Ryerson Univ., in 2009
  • BS in Electrical and Electronics Eng. from Shiraz Univ., Shiraz, Iran in 2001
  • From 2007 to 2009, he worked at Sunnybrook Hospital on sleep data analysis, investigating the effect of medications on sleep and developing software for the detection of eye movements recorded from patients during sleep. From 2012 to 2017, he was a researcher at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto developing surgical robots for pediatric bone biopsies. His research focused on developing MRI-compatible sensors and actuators.
